It’s hard to believe that we’re already a full day deep into Moogfest. With the incredible displays of talent from last night (see: Moby, Holy Fuck, Mayer Hawthorne) behind us, it’s time to start again. The freaks are going to be out today in full force; expect costumes, glitter, wigs, and probably some men on stilts.
Today’s schedule is stacked. Start with the Naked and Famous early on, and then run to check out YACHT at the ACC. After YACHT, you can stay put at the ACC for the next set, SBTRKT (pronounced ‘subtract’.) Today’s absolutely-do-not-miss-for-any-reason set is (obviously) The Flaming Lips at Animoog Playground; their set is prime time at the amazing outdoor playspace by Arcade and the Renaissance, so wear some layers and get down with Wayne Coyne. Tonight’s late night of choice is STS9—get a spot on the floor and lock it down, because their lightshow is best seen from the bottom up.
The weather is supposed to get cold tonight, so come prepared to shiver a little bit between sets. Don’t forget to get 21+ wristbands at the ACC before your favorite band starts, because otherwise you’ll be going on a long trek through the Civic Center while the band is (inevitably) playing your favorite song. Hunker down and get funky, because day two of Hallomoog weekend is not going to be casual.
